A killer had a knack of kidnapping a victim to his hideout to decide their fate. He always gives them a choice of 2 pills. The killer knows what pill is good and bad. The victim has to take a pill and drink water for them to have it. The process repeats several times. How does this happen?

the poison is in the water not the pill the pill is harmless :P

The way the riddle was answered is this way: The riddle never said the killer took the water to take the pill. If it's a 50/50 chance, the method wouldn't continue. However, the pill is completely harmless and the water has the poison.
