This is an argument often used to discredit offense caused by actual offensive content such as discrimination.
Very few people are actually offended by people swearing online, but when it comes down to actual offensive words, such as slurs or discriminatory content, that's where people tend to, rightfully, be offended.
I see a lot of people trying to say "just don't go online" or "grow a pair" as a retort when called out or punished for sharing offensive content and engaging in discriminatory behaviour, but saying that those offended and affected by such discrimination shouldn't go online is just furthering the problem even more.
Sorry buddy, but I don't know how to tell you this. The internet will never be a social justice safe haven for everyone. There will never be a time where it's a "safe space" for every single human being from every single background imaginable. I get that you want it to be, but it's just very unrealistic. People have different opinions, always have, always will, instead of cowering away and silencing them or deciding to fire back, just learn to live alongside them instead. Getting worked up over what other people believe just isn't worth it at all.
