what's different with people discussing asap/elitelupus or whatever other darkrp servers - which i have consistently witnessed occurring - which should be a much more significant concern as direct competition, just makes no sense to me

if streaming (a main feature of discord calls nowadays) isn't allowed why don't the rules say that, and what's new in the tou which says the contents of the stream, whatever it was, isn't allowed?

I'd like to add, I wasn't planning to ban anyone from the start - after we agreed to deal with it by banning people who were advertising the other community (advertising being something we've never allowed, and in this context, it was quite obviously advertising, it was the ZARP Discord, not their Discord). I clearly said to the others on Teamspeak beforehand I was going to join, ask you guys to stop and give you a chance to do so and ban those who didn't. Everyone in the channel agreed to this, and I'm quite disgusted that you think me agreeing to something with other Owners and Head Admins is a reason to call me petty or throw insults.

Advertising other communities has never been allowed on ZARP, I'm not going to discuss anything further on this thread, but feel free to message me on Discord if you want to discuss things in a civil way (that offer stretches out to anyone).

just about everything you've said can be argued against at significant length or just straight disproven but i'm not here to do that

take a break man, step back for a bit, remove yourself from all of this shit, come back with a fresh outlook in however long you need, focus on other things in life whether that be your general wellbeing or your family or anything, developing hobbies etc., give yourself a somewhat clean slate over a short period of time and know that if such a significant majority heavily goes against what you're saying while having access to just about all necessary information, they're probably not wrong

i genuinely wish you the best as a person but some amount of growth simply just needs to occur

I think every one is getting a bit too fired up about this. If me leaving zarp has taught me anything is that this shit is not fucking worth investing yourself emotionally, at the end of the day it's a community based on a game, what truly matters is the friends you make along the way both online and in real life.

Everyone should just calm down take a step back and try to look at it from the others side. You guys should try and see it from the side of xnator who clearly has a lot of things on his plate and got multiple reports from people saying you guys are advertising a different server and you didn't listen to his warning so he got mad and banned you, again xnator should try and see it from your side when you are just trying to have fun and enjoy the game.

I do believe it is best that this gets locked and someone like martin or whoever has the power around here these days handles this in a civil manner.

p.s that was kinda cringy but it's true you should stop fucking caring so much about this internet shit and focus on your real life.

edit: after a talk with big man sorle I was enlightened and realized that some people use this as a coping mechanism which is very much understandable and someone taking it away can cause a lot of distress which is also understandable and I don't have much to say it's a really tough situation and if anyone needs someone to talk to and don't trust anyone else I'll always be available.

Yes, of course it's a gaming community and you should always take a break if it gets too much for you, but it's also a gaming community people have invested a lot of time and money into so they clearly want to see it at it's very best, which explains why people are confronting Xnator as they have issues with him.

I mean honestly speaking, I think that the fact that the ban was the first thing to go to is a BIT excessive. Like what most others were saying, it's not like they were saying "ZARP sucks come play X server!" I feel that a ban is excessive over something that isn't in the Discord rules or TOU as of 8/16/2020. Especially when this issue has been brought up constantly over the past couple days, I feel the owners need to come out with a statement of what their definition of Advertising is. To me simply saying the name of a server is not advertising.

Furthermore, Xnator and I had a discussion about advertising in staff chat in discord. Anyway, Xnator said that it would be ok to say "I'm gonna go play VALORANT with X, wanna join?" he used this specific example.


Now there is no beating around the bush zarp is in a slight decline. The way I see it is if someone was streaming VALORANT in the discord, that is still taking players from the zarp servers. So if they are streaming, lets say asap; it would have the same effect. So to say that its okay to say that I'm getting off to go play a different game, then it should be ok, or at the very least not be considered advertising to stream perp.
