TOPIC: Forum Ban

I got forum banned for like 12 hours or something for "TOU - Replying to Spam Topic". I'd just like to know what specifically I did wrong so I don't do it again. Bans already over so it doesn't matter too much anymore. I just didn't think I was spamming or anything so I'd like to know what defined spamming. Thanks in advance

you commented on a spam thread, a thread created by a bot advertising a product or service, commenting on these makes the mods jobs harder, so commenting on these ends up in a ban no matter what
