TOPIC: Graphics help or glitch

Alright so on some servers like my friends server and a DarkRP server when I join it will load and then stay stuck on sending client info and then I can hear the game load in but my screen is on the loading screen, no matter how long I wait it stays there and I can hear everything, and then if I press my windows button to go to my desktop page and then I will click back into gmod and then my screen goes black and it's like a light up black like on loading screens or when you first turn on your monitor, but I used to be able to get on both but then I got grounded for 3 weeks and left my computer idle on the DarkRP server for abut a week before I turned it completely off (I didn't check to see if I was still connected to there server I had my monitor off) and now it does that glitch thing, I was able to join my friends TTT server once after the glitch but a lot of the graphics were messed up like some letters in the chat were like glitches out and were random colors and it did the same in the alt tab menu or the in-game steam screen and a lot of the guns were really messed up textures and it was only the item not the place around the item it was the item and it happened to a lot of thing( I can provide screenshots if needed to. If you can help me it will mean a lot to me. Thanks!

Open Steam
Right click 'Garry's Mod'
Click 'Properties'
Go to the 'Local Files' tab
Then click 'Verify Integrity of Game Files'

^ that usually fixes stuff, give it a go.
