With the new Gtx 980TI coming out the price of the gtx 980 is dropping by $50 to $500. The 970 is a great graphics card, that can run most games at 1440p no problem, for the budget. I recommend getting the 970 if you can't increase your budget. The 970 is a huge upgrade from your curren state, so why not?
