TOPIC: Gmod Crashing on load

The google search has not yielded any fruit, so I will come here
so when I start Gmod, it will give me then normal loading crap, but when it comes to
"Server Initializing" it will just crash, No "Hl2.exe Has stopped working" Gmod just closes and kills itself.

Any help

Also I would like to use this to say I won't be on, due to this problem

Have you tried deleting the entire GarrysMod folder, or tried installing steam?

Tell us your system specs.

My pc does this all the time too. I havnt found a solution yet, but i just press 'ctrl alt del' and close everything, then restart gmod. (ive been doing this for about 3 months)

I think you may want to try this to see if it works for you guys

I just done a quick google search to help you guys out

Type vgui_allowhtml 0 into console

Bump (Theirs a new problem now )

This happened to me before. 3 things I could think of.

1. Uninstall Garrys Mod.

2. Remove all add-ons or un useful crap, like something which changes your game, like brightness levels increased.

3. Go to steam support, as there is a guide which helps a lot, including different problems and how to fix them.

Maybe you could run a system scan, it takes a while, but it is extremely useful

One issue that Ive had with Gmod was that it was randomly crashing when I opened console. Solution was fixing my cooling in laptop, simply cleaning it from inside. You should consider this option aswell as its helping with many issues regarding games performance.
