ZARP Evocity V3 - Map Development Update
I have spent this past month working on the next version of ZARP Evocity and I will be showing you some of the cool things I have ready whilst some finishing touches are being done since I've took a week break.
This is not the GenCorp update, that will come at a later time.
Addressing the performance issues
First and foremost, I would like to apologise for the poor performance on the current V2 map - it is not fun to play on a server such as SSRP with much lower FPS than what you should usually be getting as demonstrated from our previous maps with much better map optimisations. I have gone ahead and spent a lot of time looking into this and drastic improvements has been made towards not only the FPS but as well as both client join time and server performance upon joining as there were quite a lot of technical issues that had to be rectified too.
Now given that the FPS is better, this will come at a cost in order to further improve it such as Far Z Clip meaning the void will be seen at a shorter distance to not have so much being rendered at once. The sky has also been lowered in the city, similar to how it was in the original Evocity map, however should not heavily impact gameplay as I have made adjustments to make this feel right and not intrusive such as bumping into an invisible wall in the sky (this may only happen when jumping from the nexus tower, again this is for performance's sake).
Before (Evocity v2):
After (Evocity v3):
Please let me know of any areas where FPS is the absolute WORST so I can try get a comparison to show and if it needs improving, I can work on this right away.
What's new?
Here's a few things I've slapped into the map, there is more than what I am showing here and I haven't had the time to create things myself however I hope this does justice for having more fun areas to do activities in for the time being.

Closing notes
I am hoping to see much better reception from this map update, I am also looking for volunteers to assist me with improving the map's performance and gameplay balancing so please do get in contact with me on Discord: Clarky#1306
Several bug fixes and changes have been done however they are not final as of yet as they need to be further tested, so I won't be noting them yet but you will know soon once we have everything set in stone.
Huge thank you to EMP for helping me out during the development, and the staff team for reporting issues and giving feedback.
Thanks ZARP!
