Congrats! one question though what exactly is "Active Outreach" ?
just more of what he already does, nothing
Working incredibly hard in the community, spending hundreds of hours making maps for us across all servers and assisting community-wide in management and outreach by streaming as well as communication is hardly "nothing".
Sure, but how does getting community manager assist Mixerz with streaming and communication? This is the type of stuff that makes people believe you already know who you're gonna pick for CM because IMO, nafe's and CEO's ideas far surpass whatever "active outreach" means for a community manager.
Unfortunately having only just returned to the community does put a big question mark over how long we can expect someone to stay in the role, and we do have the expectation for Community Managers to remain for at least one year, and communication with the Community Team is also very important. In these areas, Mix3rz and Joshua stood out more than any other candidate.
Streaming and communication is much easier as a Community Manager as it gives a platform where they can share and work on their ideas as part of the team. You could make the same argument about any Server Owner or Community Manager who is not actively working on programming that they don't "need access" to certain things to carry out their tasks. Having the Community Manager role allows them to carry out these tasks on a higher level and with direct, constant communication with every member of the Community Team and the opportunity to do this properly as assigned Work Items within the weekly Community Team meeting.
This is also not the only task the new Community Managers will be doing, it is simply the main focus - all usual aspects of the role remain the same, the Key Areas are simply on top of this.
