TOPIC: ✨ COMMUNITY DEVELOPER CHALLENGE 2020

We are looking for another talented developer to work with us on delivering our major plans for 2020. If you think you have the skills to design, code, test and release updates that will be played by thousands of players then we welcome your submission to our next Community Developer challenge.


The Challenge
The challenge starts now and ends on 8PM BST - 10th May 2020 by which time you must have submitted your entry to the Community Team. The challenge is to create a brand new Achievements System for the ZARP Pointshop in which users can complete varying challenges to progress and receive rewards (Either in the way of Diamonds, XP or Items). It is entirely up to you how the addon functions and how complex it is but you need to meet the following criteria at least:

• Must allow users to complete varying challenges and receive rewards on completion
• Must allow users to view their progress and achievements
• Rewards must be either automatic or claimed from a menu
• Addon must have an API for easily adding new achievements and rewards (e.g. Adding a new achievement to Win 10 Rounds on TTT and get a Player model)
• Addon must call these placeholder functions to add Diamonds/Items/XP pastebin.com/AeWQaDcP
• Must use MySQLoo module to store and retrieve data. github.com/FredyH/MySQLOO/blob/master/README.md

The addon can give and reward players for achievements in any way you see fit, and you should add a few example ones to demonstrate how it works but as long as it meets the above requirements all submissions will be judged on the same criteria, so if you don't have time to add as many features as others you wont be marked down. You can use animations, menu designs, chat notifications or anything else you come up with to make an achievements system that players will enjoy and use everyday.

Rules
The challenge is open to all members of the community, as long as you have an active ZARP account you can enter. Submit your entry to a Community Team member as an addon which can run alongside the ZARP Store/Pointshop along with any additional information we will need to run it. You can be present to demo it if you would like to, but it's not a requirement.

• Only one person per entry, you cannot work as a team
• Only one submission per person
• You CAN use external code libraries but cant use other peoples addons e.g. Gmodstore
• You must submit a fully working addon to be judged to the Community Team with no obfuscated code

Judging
The addon will be judged in these areas and given a score from 0-5 by each Community Team member. The submission with the highest score overall will be the winner and ZARP's next Community Developer.

• Presentation - The look and overall design of the addon
• Code Efficency - Is the code easy to read, easy for other devs to edit and understand and use standard GLua conventions
• Code Quality - Are there any script errors, exploits or other issues with the code
• Player Engagement - Does the addon engage players, is it fun to use, will it draw them back on the server each day
• Innovation - Does the addon do something new and original compared to what we might expect

The Position
The Community Developer will be responsible for the development of new updates and features across our portfolio of Pointshop servers for 2020. We have a number of major plans already but will be looking for your own input and ideas as you progress in the role.

What we expect from you
Only the most dedicated, passionate and expert members need apply. You should be able to fufill your role for at least the remainder of 2020 and should be highly visible and active within the ZARP community. Try to attend every meeting if you can but always make sure you are available for the Server Owners meeting. You will also need be very dependable and work well as part of a team.

We will always make ourselves available to you if you need help with any part of your new role. We always aim to attend every meeting and keep you up-to date as well as involving you in the plans for new updates and features across our servers.
