TOPIC: Max's Demotion

Aw, shit.

Must have been a hard decision indeed. Max is still a prominent figure of our community.
But I guess due to inactivity, it is for the best ...

Max I just wanted to write a thank you here for all your hard work in this community, you have been one of the best staff members in the history of this great community and surprised us all with your dedication to releasing quality updates across our servers and increasing your programming skills to a very high level.

We are really not happy at all that this demotion had to take place, as other Community Team members have been in-active in the past, but unfortunately this is a lot different, you did make a massive promise to the community at the beginning of the year and to the CM Team, and despite so many attempts to get hold of you, we even sent Captin to ask you at school to get online, you haven't showed up in months to talk to us.

We understand you have moved on to new things in your life, but for the good of the community, we wish you would of thought of this before taking the Community Manager position, which somebody else could have filled and made a lot of progress, especially where we needed it the most during my own inactivity this year.

Nevertheless, we thank you for your service and dedication and wish you all the best at College and into University and beyond.

TBH niche things, such as a scoreboard timer that no one actually cared about.
ATM zarp is lacking consistent updates, planned updates, and tbh a lot of EGO based thinking.

Updates for surf, deathrun, phunt, etc slowly,slowly, became non existent, and just happen every now and then, even when there is an update planned, it lacks good execution, so they often get released broken, half done, or just not thought out at all.

(This goes to xnator) Not only that, you bite peoples heads of when they try to improve a server, instead of trying to help them, like me and tyler did with you, to get you where you are, you just bite their heads of, go WTF HAVE YOU DONE, etc and don't even assist in helping them. you have litterally turned in to something i would rather see demoted with how you treat people. YOu also seem to think fixing a timer is some great deal, yet happy to see max demoted, when he has done more development work than you have and yet you dont show appreciation to him, nor to the people who HELPED you when you was learning, HELPED you when you messed up.

Max is a good guy, lots of shit said about him, very little is true, show appreciation for his WORK he has done to improve this community, instead of being pricks due to him being inactive

I mean, Max never did any updates for Prophunt specifically so that's just wrong.

I did not break a single thing when I got Server Developer, I fixed all the things that you and Max had broken and all of the old and outdated shit that was on the server, including updating the Pointshop which Max had promised to do months before.
The scoreboard timer and auto map vote were broken before I even had Server Developer on Surf, and they were the first things I fixed, as Onion sent me the files for them before I got the rank to look at due to them being demoted.
It is not a big deal that I fixed the timer, however I used it as an example of one of the small things that were meant to be done for the server yet were just broken, and an example of the times in which Max promised updates for the servers yet did not deliver or even mention anything except lie about why they could not be done.

I do appreciate the good things that Max has done for the community, however he has not been doing any good in the community as of late, hence why this demotion is something we have been expecting.
I don't quite understand why you're here suddenly calling me out for things I apparently broke despite the fact that evidently I was able to fix them, something that you failed to do, such as when you didn't seem to understand why the map vote timer on the scoreboard was broken, yet it was blatantly obvious, and how several other aspects of the server were broken and/or a mess when I came along, the majority of which has been largely improved.

Unlike you and Max, I decided to stay with the community and actually try to do something to work on the flaws within the community, however it seems like the two of you decided that you would just turn around on all the work that you put into the community and would rather go off an start over, which is greatly disappointing.

Both you and Max made promises for the community and your relevant servers before leaving, you with your update promises for Surf that Onion was really looking forward to and trying to come up with further plans for, and Max with the many promises that he said he would carry out as a Community Manager. You have no business calling anyone out here, Max's demotion was wholly deserved, and both you and Max have disappointed the community in the failed promises that have been made.

i only had 1 thing i was working towards when i left zarp, which was an event system update, yet issues that arrised within the community between me and others(Not naming names), made me NOT want to assist the community i once believed in.
I didn't not finish the update due to just going inactive, i didn't finish it due to leaving on good terms, before anything got out of hand, not only that, for also personal reasons, so i then had things more important than a update for a game server that i don't earn from and did in spear time. I also helped you get to where you are, so i could leave, so i wasn't leaving the community without someone who couldn't take over the development shit or helping people when needed.

Onion orriginally had helped me a decent amount with updates, and would regularly come see, give inputs etc, which for example features in the current hud system on surf, he had helped, but at the same time, majority of people would always say, Why is he owner, why is he not demoted etc, because they never saw him, yet i defended him in them times. just like i have defended you in your times of bad mistakes causing server breaks, issues between staff, or even your current TS HA rank.

I only missed my 1 update i was planning, which it's original date was just not obtainable due to how much i had to actually plan out to get it to work efficiently on the surf server without impacting the actual core gamemode further more, i had asked onion for things on that update, and he failed every time to give me anything i had requested, which was as simple as what events could we do, credit, he gave 1 maybe 2, but every time i asked him for any more, i would not get anything. that update didn't happen due to many reasons, some personal, some that had arrived within zarp its self.

I'm also gonna give you 1 insight to something i didn't tell anyone hear on when i left.
I built a portfolio, a portfolio that has given me MANY job contracts, one that i even asked max if he had any experience in, due to being able to send his details if he wanted. once them contracts started to be sent, as in recent i had 2 more in just the past 2 weeks. Life and building my work related things, became way more important, than developing for a game that contains me no money, no future security to get a house, etc. I know you are a lot younger than me and havn't actually had to worry due to school still being a thing to you, but once you become 18 going on 19, and you are starting to get contracts for jobs sent to you for good money, you soon realise when your priorities lie, which Chute actually showed gratitude when it came to me resigning and what i want to-do next. Frankly xnator, we have to grow up, can't earn a living from a game server you give your spare time too. so learn your facts BEFORE judging towards why( I know i haven't in the past, but before i left, i made sure i knew more than just 1 opinion)

Regardless it is true like others say: Max made promises that he couldn't keep. And although he deserves all the respect for his hard work over the past few years, I do think he handled this relatively poorly. Move on with your life, sure, but don't leave the rest of the community hanging with the question "But what will you do for us?"

You had the wit to resign, and you have my utmost respect for it. Others, however, have lost some of that respect because they refused to communicate to anyone about what they were doing and what they were going to be doing. And although I do believe it is a harsh thing to say, I don't think anyone is wrong in rightfully criticising Max for his own mistakes.

Who the heck wrote this Statement and when was there ever a CM that fulfilled all of his promises. Dang. You are writing this as if he killed someone, calm tf down.
