If you look at the statistics of the server over time, the decline actually happened when we were still using the original b5 map, not a modified version of it - the modified versions were added as a plan to tackle this and see if a small map change would improve things, which evidently was not the case.

The maps that Mix3rz has made are of excellent quality and fix a range of issues that are present in the default map, but after investigating a little myself last week, it looks like the main issue if we are to look solely at the map (given that the issue is not with people leaving the server, but with new players not actually clicking on the server in the first place - this shows that the issue is not related to gameplay and content on the server, as we know for a fact that our content is of a very high quality and those who do join enjoy the content and tend to stick around) is that the 24/7 b5 trend isn't as popular anymore as it has been in previous years. I have some plans which I'm going to be discussing with Henny regarding this over the weekend to hopefully put into action in the coming week or two.

Have to agree with nogtog on that one the Halloween map and the Xmas map (2020 map)
were personally my favorite maps new content being added and the xmas map personally was a such a cool map considering it had a ship trap and cool features.
The Halloween map was very cool and I enjoyed it.
not to disrespect Mix3rz the easter map is odd the textures are very ugly and barely any features were added no new traps I understand Mix3rz that didn't have much time considering it was the pandemic i really enjoyed the xmas map and I really had lots of fun of playing it.
if I'm being honest ttt is extremely boring for me i just really wish ttt USA had players considering it gets very boring to play b5 over and over. it's sad seeing the usa server being dead
personally i would love to see ttt USA being populated

Honestly I'm not very familiar with Gmod rankings anymore, it's been a while and I haven't invested the time to see on what's the current trend for TTT so a lot of the things I've been saying are somewhat speculations and what I've seen from the past whenever the server went down in players. Would you be open to tell us these plans once you've figured it all out so we have some transparency?

It’s always something I’ve expected to happen eventually. The minecraft map is extremely overrated and people are no longer joining TTT servers specifically to play that map.

I guess people now decide what server to play based off of content, and considering the other servers that are around, zarp becomes even less appealing for new players.

I don’t think much can be done, expect to take what the community says seriously. For the longest time I’ve heard people complain about the card crafting feature, and as a CM I was pretty much forced to not take these seriously. I remember reading that it’s changed now, but if so it took way too long. (Obviously this is an example, I’m not saying people stopped playing because of this system)

As for the events, I think they are a really bad idea. Sure, they get players on in the short term but the last thing you want is a server that only has players when an event occurs, especially when that server is TTT.

I'd just take a look at what other popular TTT servers are doing better, come up with new ideas to differentiate the server and breathe new life into it. I haven't played TTT in a while though. One thing is for sure though is that the staff and existing regular players will have to populate the server regularly in order to drive any traffic into it from outside ZARP similarly to deathrun because nobody is going to join a server with 0 players.

Basically what JimJam and Morgan said. Because ZARP’s server is constantly on minecraft b5, players are choosing not to come on because maybe to them it’s boring and definitely overused.

Think about others servers (don’t copy), there is this one server that is doing really well because they have a huge variety of maps to play with and not just one.

So to start, we could add some more maps to the map pool. It can be minecraft or classic maps. Next we could try adding some new fancy traitor weapons and detective weapons.

Overall, to restart the server, I think we need to at least get some new maps circulating in the server and use the same “get on the server” tactics...
