TOPIC: Should users be allowed to rocket jump with recomb

Should use of the recomb be allowed to rocket jump?
Thought of this the other day and wondering if it is a valid use of the weapon, due to reaching an typically unreachable spot without chance of random discombs or rule breaking, prop surfing. Wanted to just see what other staff think.

At least from what I saw, I could see this being used as a tool that some players might end up using, as exactly as stated, a tool. I can't see any problem with a player using the recomb as some form of rocket jump, simply because it's another way to play the game. However, obviously if you were to get to the very top of the tower, you're putting yourself very much in harms way as you have little to zero cover or any place to really hide, plus on top of the already very obvious fact, there's simply no real way for most players to get up there without breaking a prop abuse rule, or just the sheer luck of a discomb pushing you up top. It would be suspicious as hell how one may get up there without pulling some sketchy jank on how one might get up top.

I realize this was meant for other staff, but as a player, I don't see a problem with anyone using the recomb as a rocket jump, I see it as another purpose to use this weapon.

Assuming as the grappling hook was added i think it would be perfectly fine.

I would see why not. You are the one that is putting yourself at harm, and it isn't really the best place to hide because it don't have much cover.

well it isn't a obvious spot as traditionally you can't reach there so i see it as a trick or way to play rather than an exploit

I think that this shout be allowed. With prop surfing it is a clear exploit as the purpose of a prop is not to use it for that. However with the recombobulator, it is ment for pushing players, if you are using it to rocket jump then you are using the weapon for its purpose, to push a player. Any of the spots reached will not provide a large advantage and if the grappling hook was added this should be allowed.

In my opinion i see this as fine however it is technically reaching an unreachable place where only traitors may go so it can be debatable also if no one sees the user going up there staff may bring that person down as they don't know if he prop surfed or anything alike so mixed opinions from me.

I'm not so sure whether this way of using the recomb is appropriate, since it is basically another way of reaching (usually) unreachable places. using the minecarts to surf in game also enables you to reach places you normally can't reach.. we slay people for propsurfing, so I think it's not really correct to exploit this feature of the recomb in order to launch yourself.

to elaborate on my last post... either any way you can think of, to reach the tower, is allowed.. or any possible way is NOT allowed..

Why would this not be allowed its not game breaking, The grappling hook can get up there so why not this.

Problem here is that people may say they used a recomb or a hooky thing. While they propsurfed on the tower...
