How / why would it benefit the Prophunt server: It would help combat the problem of not having a lot of staff members as people would be able to play on the server and be staff even if they have work. This used to be the case before when there were a lot of staff members but increasing the minimum lowered the staff count, so maybe decreasing the requirement will make people more obliged to go for staff. Suggestion Title (What are you Suggesting): VIP Prop (or VIProp) How / why would it benefit the Prophunt server: Players, especially hunters, would be more incentivised to hunting down a prop that is worth twice as much while also possibly increasing other props' survivability. Also further encourages friendly competition between hunters while playing. Potential Issues/Exploits: Nothing if coded correctly and player count restrictions are placed, similar to the point betting system's. Additional notes: A single player on ‘Props’ will be chosen at random to be the VIP who will give twice (or higher than) the usual PS points and more XP from being killed. They will be chosen about 30-40 seconds after hunters' start of play (to lessen chances of AFK props being chosen) and will be indicated by an alert both in the chat box and somewhere on screen, either subtlety in the middle or in the top-right corner possibly followed by a sound as well. The alert will say something along the lines of: “Player X is the VIP! Kill them for Double XP and Points!”. When the VIP is killed, the usual top-left alert will appear though will be edited to reflect the greater point reward. For this feature to be enabled, there must >=7 (not definite value) players on the server as to avoid abuse of it during lower player counts. Lowering this will make more guns to be able to be used by the prop hunt players, hopefully making it more exciting and a more realistic target to reach. More ranks and weapons to use - Currently, I believe that there are far too few variety of weapons within the game mode, with a lot of the weapons being assault rifles and submachine guns which all practically feel the same to use. I believe we should add more shotguns, lightmachine guns, extra explosives for higher levelled players, and maybe even the PSG or dragunov. Working in semi unison with the previous suggestion, this will make more guns available to more players, leaving a target for players to find. More maps - This is self explanatory, adding more maps with no bugs and are not too big will prevent the game mode from getting too monotonous, currently there are quite a few previous maps that could be readded as the current map pool is far too small, which leads to many players becoming bored. VIP prop - This was a suggestion accepting a very long time ago which was suggested by Ramen, this is a concept where you get more experience for killing a certain prop. I believe this generation could be based off a few things: The amount of kills someone has gained as a hunter, the amount of end round rewards the player has gained, the time survived the previous round as a prop, and the current amount of time spent on the server by the player. I believe this would add more excitement towards the rounds Experience and points for taunting - Currently, there is very little benefit to taunting other than getting 20 more xp at the end of the round for taunting. I believe that there should be a system that tallies up the amount of times you have taunted, and if you survive the round then you get a certain amount of points, obviously there would be a threshold so people do lot get loads of xp and points Betting - Not sure why it was removed in the first place but it added some form of risk and players seemed to enjoy it and complained to me multiple times, to my knowledge it still has not been readded to the server. Increasing the end round rewards value - Currently, you only get around 20 experience for being the best at the round in something, such as taunting he most of surviving the longest as prop. Lowering this will make more guns to be able to be used by the prop hunt players, hopefully making it more exciting and a more realistic target to reach. More ranks and weapons to use - Currently, I believe that there are far too few variety of weapons within the game mode, with a lot of the weapons being assault rifles and submachine guns which all practically feel the same to use. I believe we should add more shotguns, lightmachine guns, extra explosives for higher levelled players, and maybe even the PSG or dragunov. Working in semi unison with the previous suggestion, this will make more guns available to more players, leaving a target for players to find. More maps - This is self explanatory, adding more maps with no bugs and are not too big will prevent the game mode from getting too monotonous, currently there are quite a few previous maps that could be readded as the current map pool is far too small, which leads to many players becoming bored. VIP prop - This was a suggestion accepting a very long time ago which was suggested by Ramen, this is a concept where you get more experience for killing a certain prop. I believe this generation could be based off a few things: The amount of kills someone has gained as a hunter, the amount of end round rewards the player has gained, the time survived the previous round as a prop, and the current amount of time spent on the server by the player. I believe this would add more excitement towards the rounds Experience and points for taunting - Currently, there is very little benefit to taunting other than getting 20 more xp at the end of the round for taunting. I believe that there should be a system that tallies up the amount of times you have taunted, and if you survive the round then you get a certain amount of points, obviously there would be a threshold so people do lot get loads of xp and points Betting - Not sure why it was removed in the first place but it added some form of risk and players seemed to enjoy it and complained to me multiple times, to my knowledge it still has not been readded to the server. Also further encourages friendly competition between hunters while playing. Potential Issues/Exploits: Nothing if coded correctly and player count restrictions are placed, similar to the point betting system's. Additional notes: A single player on ‘Props’ will be chosen at random to be the VIP who will give twice (or higher than) the usual PS points and more XP from being killed. They will be chosen about 30-40 seconds after hunters' start of play (to lessen chances of AFK props being chosen) and will be indicated by an alert both in the chat box and somewhere on screen, either subtlety in the middle or in the top-right corner possibly followed by a sound as well. When the VIP is killed, the usual top-left alert will appear though will be edited to reflect the greater point reward. Response: This isn't something I can apply to Prophunt alone. This is a requirement that is managed by the CM team and would have to be reviewed and voted on by them in a CM team meeting. I can discuss it with them but I don't really seeing a need for this to be changed. Suggestion: IP checker Response: While this is a decent idea in practice, it would require storing people's IPs which is a very dangerous thing to do, should it fall into the wrong hands. Not only that, but people like to use VPNs when they commit to ban evading, so it wouldn't really be much good if people spent 10 minutes looking for a decent VPN. I don't see the value in developing a solution for this suggestion. Suggestion: More maps - ph_bikinibottom, ph_elementary_school, ph_jedi_template, ph_highflooroffice, ph_villahouse Response: We're open to test these maps for things like props in the map, spawn points and exploitable areas however, we cannot guarantee they will all be added. Suggestion: Fix glitched Hula Dolls Response: Currently Hula Dollas randomly spawn in the vicinity of a player or players. This only works when the dolls spawn in accessible locations. After discussing it with Chute, he's recommended reworking the addon to accept pre-configured locations on the map that developers can add via console command. Then, once a map is loaded, the addon knows what to fetch from the database and will randomly select 5-10 dolls to spawn around the map. This is a big piece of work but it's on the to-do list.
