if i got my mod demoted temporarily wouldnt i still get it back?

No u were demoted u don't get it back

but it said temporarily doesnt mean forever till i apply and it gets accepted

Getting emergency demoted temporarily means that it gets discussed in the LT meeting if you should keep it or not. If you never got it back, then that means the LT decided you shouldn't be staff for a while. This allows you time to earn trust with the team.
