TOPIC: Last night Admin mishaps.

I am not going to shout abuse as it was more of a rule breaking hopefully accidentally.

Clas Ohlson (Sorry if i don't spell names right) Made a sort of a police state, cornering off a large chunk of the map and having checkpoints that only a swat could let you through, I lived in there and asked if i could get through he said show me your id after some talking so i did /me presses id to window And he said hmmm looks like you have a fine. I had just came on this server and first thing he was blackmailing me (Corruption) and swat cant be corrupt, this was not my first issue, after some attacks on the checkpoints I wanted to get back in and said let me back in, i was told i did not live here and there is another fine. this was getting out of hand and bullshit, i asked clas to tell them that i had already payed and lived here. he did not, so I adverted LET ME IN TO MY HOME!. You have been warned by clas ohlson for incorrect use of advert. umm, I dont see me breaking any rules and it was ingame, i asked him to explain and he didnt i put a f1 claim and after about 20 mins i still had no answer and i had to leave. i would just like some clarity on this

Yes they are allowed to set up checkpoints. All of this is part of roleplay but he should let you though.

Well I'm sorry you had a bad experience with the role play that was going on but as I was there watching all the staff I didn't see any sort of rule breaking or corruption. Police have the right to put up checkpoints and in the role play aspect of you had a fine you would have to pay that before using the heck point, Even in real life if you had a fine they would make you pay. Your warning is valid also you can not break RP because your upset with the situation and then use the /advert system to tell someone to let you in agian IRL You wouldn't put a ad in the paper asking someone to let you in a house. I really would recommend finding a group when they are having a big role play like that and join in. If you would like to talk about this more your more than welcome to add me on steam or come on TS.

The main thing is that i had no fines as i had recently joined the server and i was fined 2 times for things i did not do As they were making up things that did not happen. This i do not care about too much it was only money so mainly disregard this.

The fact that i cant advert LET ME IN TO MY HOME Is rather strange, you are correct that i would not advert it in the paper but i have seen many people do adverts like Ok Come to my home Or Where is my car. I see nothing wrong with what i was saying because clas was not letting me into my own home and refused to let me in. I dont see how this was breaking Rp. I was a person who lived in a area of the game, I wanted to get to my home in the game, i adverted in the game to let me in to my in game house, i did not break Rp at all as i was asking to get into somewhere in the game. And as me being upset i was not really i was kinda liking the police state and i began to get annoyed as they did not allow me into my house

I'm somewhat agreeing with you Aidan, although as red put it. You wouldn't advert in a news paper that they wouldn't let you in. How else could you have dealt with the situation? Yes, actually going to said player and talking face to face but i feel your advert was more a plea to other players/friends. I would not have warned you for this and at most just mentioned how perhaps the advert was used incorrectly.

Maybe we should introduce a new chat command, not server wide but significantly higher than a yell so you can get the attention of more local people?

There is no such thing as a fine but it's part of role play so you should pay the fine. It shold be no more than 4k

It was not a checkpoint, they just took over a large section of the map and refused entry to all but a few.

All of our roleplay was done correctly; I'm sorry for nothing other than the fact that we must have greatly overlooked that you'd rather get straight through to your house and printer farm or something - despite the fact that DarkRP is a roleplay gamemode and should posses this kind of content as such.

Well i would have talked to you face to face but i could not find you as i went to all the checkpoints and had a look and you were nowhere to be seen, i even talked to another guard after i had reloged and this was the first thing i did and he said that i needed to fine me, i had no crimes or anything as i had just reloged. I have never seen anything ever saying that adverts had to be relevant to all players as I have seen 100s of adverts that are not relevant to all players, besides that I was not directly addressing you I was addressing all of the swat team that had taken over a chuck of the map and refused most people in even the residents.

How was i asking Irl to let me in, i was playing the game and asking people to let me into my house,And advert is Rp related and what i said was rp related

Adverts are for in character broadcasts (EG: calling a gang meeting, alerting to a raid (observe NLR), hostages, 911 calls, etc.)

Direct quote from the rules. I was Complaining to most people as there were 8+ people wanting to get in, And if calling a gang meeting (Not relevant to the whole server and you would not advert this is a newspaper) Is not breaking the rules i dont see how telling 11+ people that i want to get in to a area is breaking it? Maybe the rules should be changed i do not really know?

People who use advert to say 'where are you?' etc are then also punished.

It was not informative, thus nobody else knew who you were addressing.

TL;DR - it was a 'fail advertisement' because its scope was unnessecary. If you had worded it as something along the lines of 'The police state is corrupt! We must all rise against it' - that is relevant to a lot more people. Shouting 'LET ME IN' was more appropriate for your local chat (you say you were at the checkpoint with another guard) or PM.
