I don't know if there is already one of the so I've just made this to help out people new to Bhop.
Here is my guide to the basics of Bhop.
To start with you will notice that if you hold your space bar you will continuously jump. This is because of autohop. This is one of the main features of bhop as it allows you to continuously jump so that you can build up speed to complete the map in a faster time then you would if you were just walking/running. You will also need to know/learn how to strafe so that you can keep your speed during a map and so that you can land on the platforms that get you around the map. To strafe you need to use your "a" and "d" keys while moving your mouse. For example when you want to strafe to the left you would move your mouse to the left and hold down "d". The same goes for strafing to the right but you move your mouse to the right while holding down "a". All this needs to be done while holding down your space bar so that you can gain speed and jump on the platforms throughout the map. You don't need to hold down your "w" key when strafing. You only need to use your "w" key when gaining your initial speed before you start to strafe. It's all about timing the movement of your mouse and using your "a" and "d" keys at the same time. Strafing can take a lot of practice but is quite easy once learnt and can make you gain a lot of speed. Another trick you will need to know is prespeeding. This is when you bhop on the same platform to gain speed so you can make longer jumps and so that you have more speed. To do this you just need to strafe on the same spot by holding down "a" or "d" and moving your mouse in the correct direction. This is relatively easy once practiced and learnt and can help out on most bhop maps. Having a larger field of view helps with bhop and the FOV I recommend is 90. To set this type "fov_desired 90" Every now and then on a bhop map there may be a part which requires you to surf. Surfing is different from bhop and can take quite a while to learn. Surfing is pretty much sliding down/sticking to a surface while keeping the sped you have gained from bhopping. If you were surfing down the left side of the surf part of the map you would hod down "d" so that you stay on the surfing platform and if you were going down the left side you would hold down "a" to stay on the surfing platform. You do not need to hold down "w" while surfing just like while bhopping. It is only need to gain your initial speed at the start. It also helps to slide down to the lower part of the surf part and then slide back up at the end of it by pointing your mouse downwards and then flicking it up near the end of the platform. Again just like bhop this will take practice but once learnt it will be relatively easy. These are just the basics of bhop and what you will encounter on some bhop maps. On some bhop maps you will encounter harder obstacles but as you practice your bhopping you will learn how to beat them and will get better at bhop.
