Scamming is the act of stealing money, items or ZARP VIP/Booster Packs from another player through deception or trickery.

As the rule states it is the act of stealing. In the situation brought up you didn't scam as players did not give either money, items, VIP or booster packs, so you didn't technically break said rule. However you'll need to take the proper procedures to get unbanned.
