I mean although I understand the reasons for this, isn't it a bit counter intuitive since if they are really adamant on being banned they will just Mass Rulebreak enough to get a month or more ban. So surely since you don't want any rulebreaking you should just ban him rather than force him to get himself banned.

I do understand where you're coming from but I disagree. We've had multiple people ask us to ban them due to reasons like this; but again we can't just ban them for no reason at all. Those people did not rulebreak to get themselves ban because that's not the solution to everything.
