Given that this was his first forum ban and for something that is not overly major. I'll go ahead and remove his ban, trusting that he's sorry and next time will just leave the spam threads alone. Posting only slows moderators down and only further validates those threads when they should otherwise just be ignored. Not to mention the thread I made asking people not to do is currently stickied in the announcements section and has been bumped multiple times. I would always keep an eye out on that section and frequently check back to see if you are missing any of the announcements.
