Your point makes zero sense. He abused, it doesnt matter if he succeeded or not.He did "execute" his plan but failed.

Exactly, what i'm saying is that he planned it and he got to the printers so the analogy with the person is still the same, he planned it, went to the persons house but didn't do it.
