Not doing it just for the badges though! My belief is that badges are just there to show what ranks you have so that people know who to reach out to if they need help and so people know who you are for meetings and stuff. They have no indication on a person, who they are or how good of a staff member they actually are

Badges are just indications of ranks and Xnator doesn't want to be in it for badges.

Exactly, what he wants is power.
And a straight way to do that is get staff on all servers and progress up the ones that are easier to do so while actually doing nothing to help the servers you are staff on.
