It's not really a big deal if he asked you or not they would have still been removed from the list. He is just doing his job and enforcing the TOU.
It's not really a big deal having names of community banned people on the threads it's not like you are discussing them but my point is moderators can edit any post they feel breaks the terms of use.

Just how can I as a user know thats the only thing he has changed? as far as anyone can know this moves on from a birthday list post to a report abuse on someone, if a moderator can change whatever he wants without an inspection or a way for users to know he doesn't interfere with their words / work than something isn't right.
