You need to take the best course of action what will avoid a kick or a ban. As that would mean just a loos of a player. Look at all people as they are telling the truth until you are proven that they are not. Again, you can't kick the guy because "I knew he was lying" It just doesn't make sense.
I for one would put up a demote request for that, against me or not. It's not right.
