Explain "Random Death Match" and give an example scenario.
Random Death Match, RDM, is when a player is killed for by another for no Role Play Related reason. Here's an example of RDM
Scenario 1 - Jack is walking around looking at the map because his new too GMOD/DarkRP he looks at the servers NPCs and than goes to the Explosive dealer and starts killing people with Grenades This is RDM.
Scenario 2 - Josh, Jacks friend is also new to the server however he knows the rules of DarkRP and he also explores some of ZARPS content and unique map and is then shot for no reason, so he quits the server and doesn't come back!
Explain "New Life Rule" and give an example scenario.
The New Life Rule, also knows as NLR, is a rule that states: After death, you are to forget your past, which includes your killer, how you died and why. Moreover, the rule states that you are to stay away from the area of your death until the count down of 3 min on the top of your screen, is over. Here's an example of NLR
Scenario 1 - Dave is in his base printing money and making drugs and such, then Bob comes along and starts raiding him, Bob kills Dave in his base. Dave respawns and Runs back to his base and kills Bob while he is lockpicking the doors.
Scenario 2- Dave is killed by Bob this time, Dave re spawns and knows that he was killed by Bob and knew he had printers. So with this information from his previous life he uses it against Bob and successfully raids him meaning he broke NLR because he remembered his past life.
Explain "Metagaming" and give an example scenario.
Metagaming is when a player talks about an RP situation in OOC or opposite talking about an OOC related topic in RP.
This is MetaGaming
Scenario 1 - Tyson, Seans friend was new to the server and DarkRP, So he types in OOC Sean "where are you basing?" Tyson then said " Oh i'm basing in front of scrapper." This is considered Metagaming.
Scenario 2 - Dave is killed by Bob this time, Dave re spawns and knows that he was killed by Bob and knew he had printers. So with this information from his previous life he uses it against Bob and successfully raids him meaning he broke NLR because he remembered his past life.
Explain how you would handle the following situation:
Player x accuses player y for RDMing him, the console log shows that player y killed player x.
Well I've been involved with lots of these RDMing sits and because of experience with these i think there is only two ways to end these sits and this is how.
If player x had accuesed player y, how do i know player x was being raided or raiding? I don't. So in these sits there is only two options verbal warn or get proof of the RDM or witness it yourself and warn the player. These are really difficult sits for new staff members because there really hard to warn people from because if you don't get proof or witness it they could just be lying.
Explain how you would handle the following situation:
Player x accuses player y for breaking NLR, the kills are pretty close together in console (a few lines apart) at a peak time.
Once again these can be tricky sits for new staff members, because they can't make judgement just off lines being apart.
I don't actually know if consoles tell/show time so i can't say to use that but if they do that does comes in helpful. But peak time and a few lines apart would indicate a NLR most likely but it's still a guess if there was recording proof i would warn them without it i couldn't do much to stop it.
Explain how you would handle the following situation:
Player x calls for help in the OOC chat because his bank is being raided
I would probably say over OOC Please don't Meta game player x if you would like to request the help of others pm them or run up to an officer in game. If it was to continue i would speak to him personally by TPing. if it went further than there it would be a warn. But i can expect him to stop after i TP to them.
Why I should be chosen (we recommend around 150 words).
I feel like i should be chosen for mod because of these reasons. Currently i'm trying my hardest to keep my cool and not disrespect in every single frustrating thing. Lately during my F1's i try to step in for the admin/mod and explain rules to players and i ask for feedback on how i handle it and most seem to think i kept my cool and seemed to do well! My game time is already improving i'm almost at 100 hours, and play at least 2-3 hours every day, I really want mod this time so i will continue to strive for it! I'm trying to turn around my hideous reputation and i feel like it's slowly working. I will have recent warns by this staff meeting but i hope though's can be put past and see the opportunity within me as a moderator. I may not be the smartest, nicest or anything like that but if i'm given the chance i promise i wont let the staff team and the whole of ZARP itself down!!!
