Sadly even if you become a section mod on that section you still cannot accept/deny any suggestions, these suggestions are looked over by the lead/community team, they're not forgotten they're just not being replied to.

Mostly, a section mod's job is to make sure that his section is clean of posts that are not meant to be there, lock any threads that are in need of locking, help any users in that section in any way, or deleting any unnecessary posts.

That still doesn't stop you from applying, as blocked said.
