Explain how you feel that your time as a moderator will contribute to you becoming an admin.
Being a moderator has contributed to me greatly in the journey to becoming an admin. It taught me the different commands and when to use them. It gave me a better understanding of the rules, and a bond between staff. I have been through many f1 situations and they have made me a better staff member. My reflexes have quickened for things happening at that moment and i know the most effective way of dealing with that situation.
Explain a situation as a moderator you encountered that was an obstacle you had to work around (EG: defiant user).
there has been many situations where there was an obstacle i had to work around. Like when one player denied everything and the other player had no proof. or when somebody kept on loopholing. I just kept working at them and in the end i got to a conclusion for the f1. There are also the times when someone is propblocking or mass rdming and as mod you cant do much. Sure you can warn them and kick them but even when they get to the max warns of 4 they will be coming back very soon in 1 hour.
If you had to write a facebook post to train a moderator in between 200-300 words, what would you say to give them the full grasp?
Hello and congratulations on being accepted as moderator!
Before you get in there and start helping the community you need to learn how to use your powers!
I shall teach you in this guide.
f1:
As you can see when you press f1 you will have a whole new tab!
So now instead of requesting staff help you are the staff help.
You can handle a f1 by clicking it and pressing handle this.
There is also the warnings tab for seeing the warnings that have happened while you are online and the logs to see everything that has happened on the server since you logged on.
Commands:
Now that you have become moderator you have a whole heep of new commands.
/tp- teleports you to the place you are looking at and /tp playername teleports the player to where you're looking
/goto- teleports you to the player you typed in
/back- teleports you back to the last place you were before you did /tp or /back playername to teleport a player back where they were before the /tp
/freeze- freezes a player for either a length of time or until you /unfreeze. They can not move at all or turn around.
/warn- you do this to warn someone use /warn playername reason.
/unwarn- this command unwarns a player. use it if you made a mistake or if you feel you should not of done that (kind of the same) DO NOT unwarn somebody if a different staff member warned them, ask permission first.
/kick- kicks a player from the server they can rejoin automatically. use same format as warning.
These are the main commands you will be using. But I recommend pressing tab then clicking the player as you can now use most of these commands there as it will reduce mistakes.
warnings
If you see someone doing something wrong unless its in a f1 give them a verbal warning.
If you see them do it again give them a warning.
If you feel that it is right go ahead with it to some extent use common sense!
you can always use @ to say things users shouldn't know or to see what you should do in a situation.
Great! You're all set, go ahead and stop the rulebreaking!
Explain how you would handle the following situation:
Player x appeals their ban in great detail, apology and effort. You check the ban list and find that you banned them permanently for propspam, and that this is their first ban. How would your response to the appeal be?
Hello player X!
I have read your appeal and you know what you have done and that it is wrong. Read over the rules again while you are banned and play by them. Since this was your first ban it has been.
Accepted- down to 3 days
Why I should be promoted.
I have been staff for a long time now and I feel the time is right for promotion. I work very hard as moderator and I am always active. My time as mod has been fun but I feel with admin i can help the community out even more than i could as a mod. This is on many levels e.g. commands I can deal with propblock a lot easier and ban mass rdmers. Stopping people in the act quickly with the physgun, to even things as simple as invis to spy on possibly illegal bases. I hope i can help the community of zarp more by becoming admin as that is the whole point of me applying.
Thank you for your time -2spooky4me
