Explain how you feel that your time as a moderator will contribute to you becoming an admin.
I am a moderator on both
Bhop & Deathrun so by now I know all the commands and
when they
should be used. As a moderator I feel that I've done a
decent job over the last 2 weeks and have
helped a lot of players with either micspammer/chatspammers or
learning how to bhop. I have kept the server peaceful so far and will continue to do so in the future. I love Bhop and it is
most enjoyable when there is
peace in the server (no rulebreakers).
Explain a situation as a moderator you encountered that was an obstacle you had to work around:
There have been
quite a few instances. The
issue is as moderator the only commands I have access to are gag and mute which are
useful against the
typical rule breaker on Bhop because its mostly chatspammer/micspammers and disrespectful/racist people that break the rules. But there are also
quite a lot of Gunspammers that
annoy all the players, there's instances when the kick command would be useful if/when the individual continues breaking rules.
A recent example would be a player was assumed of using scripts but there was no way for me to check so I had to base it completely off opinion from spectating him.
If you had to write a letter to train a moderator in between 100-200 words, what would you say to give them the full grasp?
I would start off by explaining the commands he would have access to and in which situations he should use them. For Bhop this would be Mute and Gag.
- Gag a person when he/she is being disrespectful on the mic, being racist or is just generally micspamming.
- Mute a person when he/she is being disrespectful in chat, being racist or just generally chatspamming.
I would also explain to them clearly that they are supposed to be as
objective as possible in handling the situations presented to them. In other words I would tell them to try and
leave emotions out of the picture when dealing with rule breakers. When situations are dealt with from an emotional standpoint they are usually
done badly. Objectivity is your
primary goal as a staff member (look at the evidence not at the personality).
Explain how you would handle the following situation:
Player x appeals their ban in great detail, apology and effort. You check the ban list and find that you banned them permanently for Cheating, and that this is their first ban. How would your response to the appeal be?
Well If the said individual was banned for cheating it implies he was anti cheated while playing in game and it detected scripts on him. This means the person was knowingly cheating which is a permanent ban. If the player had proof that he wasn't using hacks then that would be taken into account and most likely result in his ban being lowered to a temporary ban. However if the person admits to guilt and is in fact guilty of said rule break then the ban would most likely not be lowered and would stay permanent.
Why should I be promoted:.
Currently as a moderator I
can not do much in terms of stopping rule breakers. If they are breaking any rules that
aren't disrespect/spam in either chat or mic then I have no way of dealing with the situation.
As an admin I would have access to the following useful commands:
- Kick/Ban:
This would be useful when players continue on breaking rules and rejoin to avoid punishment.
Ban would be in the extreme case that they keep returning after being kicked and continuing to break rules or in the case that the person is hacking.
- Anti cheat:
This would be extremely useful when someone is suspected of scripting. You just spectate and anti cheat the said individual. It is a convenient way of checking the person for hacks without having to base your entire decision on opinion.
- Force change:
This is only to be used in
extreme situations. If it is done the bots are wiped from the map. It is
only to be used if a map completely breaks (Entities go invisible) and the users
aren't RTVing the map.
Extra Information:
I am currently the
highest rank player on Bhop which is currently
Brawler. I play there
quite a lot and since maps are
always being added its
never not fun or challenging.
I'd say I'm a
decent Bhopper I can complete most maps (suck at KZ though) so I know the mechanics of Bhop.
I'm already staff on
Deathrun so I have more moderator
experience than just on Bhop.
