RDM (Random deathmatch) is a case in which a player of any sort randomly kills someone without any reason to do so. Take for example if a drug dealer on Dark RP randomly pulled out a weapon and killed another player of any sort for no particular reason, this is RDM.
NLR (new life rule) is the rule that if a player was killed with reason (not RDM) they respawn and are supposed to not remember anything that happened prior to their death. This player should then also not return to the place of death until the timer at the top of the screen reaches 0. An example of this is if a player was shot dead by police for trying to shoot the police, they would have to improvise that they do not remember before the death. The player then goes back too the location where he was killed and shoots the officer; this is breaking the NLR.
Metagaming is where a player uses their knowledge to give them an advantage in the game; a knowledge that their character would not have. An example of this is if a player sees in the OOC chat that someone who is wanted states their location, and then the player travels to this location and kills or arrests the wanted player using their real life knowledge, a clear breaking of the metagaming rule has applied.
To handle the situation, firstly, after checking the console to verify that player y killed player x, i would have to ask player y why they killed x. Obviously, if there is no reason that is valid, I cannot make a controversial decision and would be forced to tell x and y to carry on with the game but if any witness saw x shoot y first, i would understand the valid reason on why the case happened.
Firstly, knowing that the kills were close at a peak time, it would be clear that y had a provoked attack on x, this is NLR as y should have not remembered anything prior to their death meaning they clearly killed x for revenge. This would result in me giving player y a warning for not following the NLR.
I would have to give player x a warning as they were posting RP relevant messages in the ooc chat. This chat is for non game related purposes so i would have to discuss this with player x. The offence would not be warning worthy as player x would not have meant to breach the rule in such a way but if player x repeatedly did this, a warning would be issued but for first time he would be allowed to go.
As an overall summary, i think that you should choose me as i am used to the game, intelligent and patient in hearing sides of the story. I have knowledge of ZARP darkRP as it is the only darkRP server i play. I have spoke to some admins and tend to get along with them and have been complimented on how i take situations. I also know how to handle tough situations and would love to be part of the ZARP team as watching the server grow, i feel like i should help out and make a difference, Thank you.
