Explain how you feel that your time as a moderator will contribute to you becoming an admin.
I feel that the time i've spent as mod has been a really good opportunity to help out the server and to mature as a person from being thrown into the deep end and adapting well to being a mod. While being a mod I've met some amazing staff members who should have learnt to trust me. I have also learnt to deal with a lot of people's problems which can range from something as simple as RDM too something as serious as random warnings from other staff members. As well as this I feel that I am ready to move onto the next step as an admin so that I can help the community even more with the powers admin would provide me with.
Explain a situation as a moderator you encountered that was an obstacle you had to work around (EG: defiant user).
As a moderator the hardest situation I could remember dealing with was a situation where someone was prop blocking the vault and refused the remove the props. Obviously as a moderator I can't personally remove props & there was no admins online to remove the props. This resulted in the guy making the F1 extremely frustrated. In the end I had to keep the user calm and then logon to teamspeak and request an admin to log on and remove the props.
.
If you had to write a facebook post to train a moderator in between 200-300 words, what would you say to give them the full grasp?
Welcome to the Mod team X.
As a Moderator your job is pretty straight forward, Deal with F1s, Dish out warnings & Teach new users the rules.
If you are caught abusing your powers you will be removed from the staff team & depending on the circumstances you could be banned from zarp.
A quick list and summary of your new commands are as following:
/warn - Pretty self explanatory use this to warn anyone who breaks rules. 3 Warnings on a player is a kick and 4 is a ban.
/tp - Use this to tp to a location or use it to tp people to you, this can be done by /tp x. - This is usually used to deal with F1's
/Freeze - Use this command to freeze anybody in place for a certain amount of time. This should be used if users are running away from you while you're dealing with an f1 etc.
/back - Use this command to send someone you've /tp'ed to you back to their former location.
/goto - Use this command to teleport to someone. This should usually be used while dealing with F1s.
/slay - This command is used to automatically kill people. This command is very powerful and should only be used in rare circumstances such as when a user breaks NLR.
/bring - Similar to TP it brings the user to your location. This command doesn't work with /back so its important to not use it and use tp instead.
/kick - Used to kick abusive players from the server. - This could be used when a user refuse to remove props that cause prop block.
/// - This is the admin chat use this to communicate with other admins & mods.
F1 Menu - The F1 Menu is where you find any active F1's made by users do them in order of the priority, higher priority = longer waiting. You can also check the logs for recent warnings, kills, job changes & arrests the logs should help
you out with any F1 reports.
F6 Menu - The F6 Menu is used to check any users past warnings, bans, slays, jails or anti cheat.
Admin Keypad Checker - This tool is used to detect whether people's fading doors apply to the server rules. This can be used to show any connections between fading doors and keypads as well as the length of the door fade.
Good luck with your new role.
Explain how you would handle the following situation:
Player x appeals their ban in great detail, apology and effort. You check the ban list and find that you banned them permanently for prop spam, and that this is their first ban. How would your response to the appeal be?
Hello MickeyMouse I have read through your ban appeal thoroughly and I have come to a verdict.
Firstly I must apologize for the ban as I and the other online staff felt this was the only course of action that could be taken in the situation due to the fact prop spamming is a very high priority rule break, you also continued to prop
spam with verbal warnings from various Moderators. Now that I look back on the ban I feel I was too harsh while dealing with your case and should have allowed you to at least explain why you were prop spamming instead of just permanently banning you. I give you my dearest apology for this.
Now about your ban, I have reduced it from a permanent ban to a week from your original ban date. This means you will be unbanned on the 29th of May at 13:01 GMT. Hopefully you will learn from this ban and become a law-abiding zarp
citizen.
Best of luck.
Why I should be promoted (we recommend around 150 words).
I feel I should be promoted seeing as I'm one of the most active staff members on the whole of zarp. I am constantly dealing with F1's, helping new players & preventing rule breaks. Whilst being a mod I have proved that I can be trusted with power and that I will not abuse it. I have also proved that I can follow the rules of zarp as well as teach the rules to new or old members of the community while being as lenient as possible with my warnings. Usually I verbally warn a user depending on the significance of their rule break.
