I think I would've handled it differently. Pulling him out of the channel to a spacer and verbally warning him would've cleared up a lot. But, I cannot say Steam's action was incorrect as you should know you cannot say this (Even though it wasn't aimed at anyone) because people might find this offensive.

I think it is wise to just sit out your 1 hour ban, and let it go.
