Explain "Random Death Match" and give an example scenario.
Random Death Match (RDM) is when a player kills another player without a valid reason.
Player A is in the middle of the street standing still not attempting to raid anyone nor is he in his own base, player B comes along with a shotgun and kills player A without a valid reason.
This would be classed as RDM.
Explain "New Life Rule" and give an example scenario.
New Life Rule (NLR) is when a player has been given a new life, thus meaning their role-playing character cannot remember their previous life and is dis-allowed to go back to his/her death point within a certain time limit, in this instance it would be 3 minutes.
Player A raids player B's base and kills player B. When player B is dead he/she is forbidden to go back to his death point (which in this instance would be his base) until his NLR timer is done.
Explain "Metagaming" and give an example scenario.
Metagaming is when a player would use knowledge which his role-playing character wouldn't know.
Player A raids player B and kills him. Player B decides to use OOC (Out Of Character) chat to ask player C for help. This would mean player B is metagaming as he's using player knowledge and not character knowledge.
Another example of metagaming would be; player A decides to use OOC (Out Of Character) chat to ask player B if he would want to raid. This would again be metagaming.
Explain how you would handle the following situation:
Player A accuses player B for RDMing him, the console log shows that player B killed player A.
There are two ways in which I could deal with this situation.
The first method would be bringing both players A and B to me and start off by asking the defendant (player B.) why he/she had killed the victim (player A). If the reason is valid then I would let them both go without any warnings given.
The second method which I would be used more commonly would be bringing the victim (player A) and ask him what had happened, once he/she has told me - I would ask then ask for any proof they may have. If the victim (player A) has no proof I would then bring the defendant (player B.) to me and ask why he/she had killed player A. If the defendant (player B.) admits to RDM then I would warn him/her. However, if he/she does not admit to RDM then I cannot carry it on any further and must let them go as there is no proof given from the victim (player A).
NOTE
If victim (player A) does give proof, then I will check through what he has given to me as evidence and analyse it carefully, if it's all correct and does show RDM then I will teleport to the defendant (player B.) and warn him as well as telling him why he has received the warning.
Explain how you would handle the following situation:
Player A accuses player B for breaking NLR, the kills are pretty close together in console (a few lines apart) at a peak time.
I would start off I would start by checking the logs. I would check the time stamps of when player A had killed player B, and if player A had killed him again during the the NLR timer that is shown for player B (which would be 3 minutes). If it IS within 3 minutes, I would warn player B for NLR, however if they are not within 3 minutes then I would leave it as it is because player B did NOT break NLR.
Explain how you would handle the following situation:
Player A calls for help in the OOC chat because his bank is being raided.
I would verbally warn player A to not do this again as it's against the rules to relay character information into OOC chat (Metagaming) as well as using /advert. If player A is caught doing this again - I will then warn him/her for metagaming.
Why I should be chosen!
I should be chosen because I have had experience of being staff on other RP servers as well as being a moderator on the Zarp Deathrun server. I'm also a strict person when it comes to people who disobey and break rules, therefore I would fit the job title perfectly. I'm also an easy person to approach to so any questions new players would have I'd most likely be the first to respond to them as I would like to give off the best impression of not only me but the whole server. I'm also a very active player, and I usually play countless hours. I'm on most of the time even when there are at most no moderator/admins/superadmins on. If I do get selected as a new staff member I will know the responsibilities I must take on and I'm ready to do so.
Thank you for reading through my application.
