Hello...

I'll try and keep this as concise as possible.

Yes, I was demoted. Yes, I'm leaving.

The reasons for my demotion I will not disclose here; you may find it elsewhere, and all I can say is that my actions this Monday can not be justified - I apologize to anyone who has been upset by what I did.

As for my leaving, there is some (but very little) coincidence between the demotion and the resignation, and I'll explain why in the next section, but what I'm not going to do is reminisce over the past - it's time to press on now.

What do I think of this?

I've been staff at ZARP for what would be two years in the coming February. For a whole year of that, I'd been at the top of the chain; I couldn't aspire any further in the community. Countless times in the last 6 months I had considered posting a resignation, but because I'd theoretically spent 13% of the years I'd been on this planet here, I couldn't bring myself to do so due to the significance ZARP has had in my life; but this is the final draft, and it is extremely unlikely that my mind will change - my demotion has been the final thing I needed to encourage me, I can no longer effectively or efficiently help out here.

Through nobody else's fault but my own, my general attitude had also led to me being implicitly disliked by certain members of the community.

I would have much rather that 'the end' played out differently; I, as everyone else unfortunately do not have hindsight. I simply can not express how much I've enjoyed my time here, and I thank all of you for playing the game with me.

What now?

I have no grudge with ZARP or any of its members over this course of action, and I do wish to maintain a relationship here; I assure you that unlike others have done in the past, I'm not going to take any drastic action which would result in me being in exile from this wonderful community. I don't know exactly what I'm going to do now, though.

Will I come back?

I'll be on/off every now and then. If I do decide to come back 'full time', it certainly won't be for a while; I'll see how 'everything' plays out from now on.
