Explain how you feel that your time as a moderator will contribute to you becoming an admin.
During my time as Moderator I have encountered many situations which required forward thinking and problem solving skills, I believe I have improved a great deal in regard to handling defiant users and rule breakers in general. Working with my fellow Moderators has advanced me in my people skills and co-operation abilities. A portion of my time as Moderator was spent observing Admins in their F1's to learn and adapt to how they handle situations.
Explain a situation as a moderator you encountered that was an obstacle you had to work around (EG: defiant user).
A recent situation of a defiant user:
As I was walking through the streets in server 1, A player blatantly starts shooting and killing random people (most unarmed and going about their own business) to which I use the freeze command to neutralize him. I teleported the player to the roof to give him a chance to explain himself upon which he said "I thought it was allowed I just joined". I then asked the player if they had even read the rules. He replied "yes" to which I told him it does not look like it and he was to read them again. I proceeded him to warn him for the RDM I had witnessed. He apologized and all was fine. However when I unfroze him he pulled out a weapon from his hotbar, killed me, and ran toward the spawn, screaming inappropriately malicious insults and spamming his mic. He attempted to mass RDM in the spawn but luckily I froze him, took him to a roof yet again, and contacted an Admin to explain the entire scenario and discuss a suitable punishment. The player then left, and was banned.
If you had to write an email to train a Moderator in between 200-300 words, what would you say to give them the full grasp?
CONGRATULATIONS! You have been accepted as a Moderator on ZARP's SSRP Servers.
Your job is to uphold and enforce the server's rules to ensure a fair and fun play environment for all players. There are some commands which your training Super Admin will teach you in the training session when you first join (You'll need to contact them and inform them you have just been allocated a Moderator position, they may ask for the link to your application). When players have a dispute or are in need of Staff assistance they will (or should) fill out an F1 report. As a Moderator you will receive these 'F1's' and have the ability to 'handle' them. Your training SA will teach you Moderator commands, the main commands consist of:
/tp <PlayerName Or SteamID> - Teleports Player to your cross-hair (If used on yourself it will TP you to your cross-hair
/bring <Player> - Brings a player to you
/goto <Player> - Teleports you to a player
/warn <Player Name> - Warns a player for breaking a rule - 3 Warns = Kick. 4 Warns = 1 Hour Ban.
/unwarn <Player Name> - Cancels previous Warn.
/kick <Player Name> - Kicks player from the server - If there are no admins online and a player attempts to crash the server by some means. A kick could save the server from going down.
/freeze <Player Name> - Used to incapacitate a player. For example: The player attempts to run away from an F1
/unfreeze <Player Name> Used to unfreeze a player.
/slay <Player Name> - Kills the targeted player.
The commands are merely a quicker way to use the TAB menu's buttons, if you go to the player on the TAB menu and click on their name, you will be able to use the Moderator powers just by clicking the buttons.
Explain how you would handle the following situation:
Player x appeals their ban in great detail, apology and effort. You check the ban list and find that you banned them permanently for propspam, and that this is their first ban. How would your response to the appeal be?
Firstly I would acknowledge the player's time and effort taken to appeal their ban. I would then continue by informing them that they were banned due to a serious offence. As it if their first offence however, I would shorten the ban and inform the player that they have another chance and not to ruin it or next time they won't be so fortunate.
Why I should be promoted.
I believe I should be promoted because I have shown my dedication to upholding the rules in all instances, I approach every situation fairly with an unbiased mindset with the objective to enforce the server rules. I have learned a massive amount during my time as Moderator on the servers and gotten to know the usual players, I believe my time as Moderator has also given me the ability to read into situations in depth to get to the bottom of problems encountered in the server. As every experience is a learning experience, I will still take in all information and use it to the best of my abilities. Due to the two server's popularity and vast amount of player demand I know that in the future there will be many challenges which I will welcome, as I will strive to be the best Admin I am able to be.
Thank you for taking the time to read and consider my application.
Regards,
