Explain "Random Death Match" and give an example scenario.
Random Death Matching (RDM) refers to when a player kills another player with no valid role play reason. For example, shooting people at random from a building; as that player has no real role play reason to want to kill those other players as they have no in game relationship.

Explain "New Life Rule" and give an example scenario.
New Life Rule (NRL) refers to the time given to a player that restricts them from returning to their place of death for three minutes. To give a popular scenario; when a shop keeper gets killed during a raid of their shop and comes back immediately to either kill the raiders or save his stock.

Explain "Metagaming" and give an example scenario.
Metagaming refers to when players share in game information out of character. For example, if a hitman is looking for a someone with a bounty on their head and another player revels that players location either through the Out of Character (OOC) chat or another IM chat (Skype Teamspseak etc.) that would be breaking the metagaming rule.

Explain how you would handle the following situation:
Player x accuses player y for RDMing him, the console log shows that player y killed player x.
  • Firstly I would go to Player X asking them about what happened to get an idea of the situation, asking if they have any screenshots or other proof of the RDM accusation.
  • I would then bring over Player Y to ask them what their reason was for killing Player X. If they gave responses similar to: "I don't know," or "they had killed me previously," etc. I would give them a warning for RDM.
  • If they gave a valid role play reason such as "they had a bounty on their head" (providing that they were a hitman at the time) or "I was mugging them" (providing they were a gangster or thief etc. and mugging them for the correct amount of 2K) I would then check the logs for any proof of what Player Y has said. If what Player Y said was true then I would explain to Player X what the reason Player Y had for killing them and why it wasn't RDM, then thank them for using the F1 system and to have fun on Zarp.
  • If there is no proof of what Player Y is saying and Player X has no proof of their own then I wouldn't be able to do anything as it is one persons word against another.

Explain how you would handle the following situation:
Player x accuses player y for breaking NLR, the kills are pretty close together in console (a few lines apart) at a peak time.
  • Firstly I would go to Player X asking them about what happened to get an idea of the situation, asking if they have any screenshots or other proof of the NRL accusation.
  • Then I would ask Player Y about the situation; checking to see if it corresponded with the logs.
  • If Player Y had no valid reason for his proven (via logs) NRL, then I would give them a warning.
  • I would then thank Player X for using the F1 system and to have fun on Zarp.

Explain how you would handle the following situation:
Player x calls for help in the OOC chat because his bank is being raided
If this were to happen, I would go to Player X and explain to him what he was doing was metagaming, with a brief explanation of what metagaming is; ask them to please not do this again or they will get a warning.

Why I should be chosen (longer answer expected here - at least 150 words).
I believe I would do a good a job as anyone really; however I have applied because:
  • I have witnessed a lot of rule breaking, as well as negative and frustrated reactions to rule breaking that I feel I could prevent if I were a moderator.
  • I also seem to be on the server at times when there aren't many people online or any moderator/admins (e.g. very late or early.) These times it can get unplayable as people are continuously breaking the rules as there is no one to enforce them; so I could try and help at those times.
  • I appear to be online at peak times, also, where there are a lot of people online and many issues to respond to; I feel if I were a moderator I could help with this.
  • I also enjoy talking to people and resolving situations, nicely, politely and calmly.
  • I also feel that I have a lot of patience with people, and will want to do what I can to respond and cater to the situation appropriately, for example watching over a raid as the Player feels the other player may NRL again.
  • I also enjoy the Zarp role play community and would like to help make it a nice place for players, whilst getting more involved.
In conclusion, if I feel as though I have any selling point it would be that I would take the role seriously, and not take sides with players in certain situations.

Thank you for taking the time to read my application.
