S.W.A.T stands for "Special Weapons and Tactics" and they get called in when there are biggeer raids, so, those ideas you have are good for SWAT.

Yeah but it is a special branch of SWAT trained in the use of riot shields and such.

Perhaps the 'Riot Shield' S.W.A.T should have extra perks, for example:

Only team allowed to restrict access to areas with barricades for police purposes
'Heavy S.W.A.T' team should have a riot shield as well as explosive charges for raiding.
