With all due respect, it seems the implication of an appeal (unless it's to shorten the length of it) is to remove something that has unjustly been put upon someone. If a staff member takes offense at the community and you agreeing that someones punishment was unfair, then it's the staff member that issued the punishment that needs to adjust their thinking to prevent such a thing from happening again, and to of course not take offense at being proven wrong.
