There are both upsides and downsides to this, on one hand, people are more aware of what is actually going on and when, which means they can get excited about future updates, etc. but on the other, if there is a need for a delay for whatever reason, time constraints, unforeseen circumstances, etc. people will be disappointed a lot and rightfully so. I believe it would simply be better for us to know when/what every developer is working on at the time in the form of a weekly or daily post that keeps everyone up to date, that way it's easier for us to predict when things will actually happen and not when they are planned to happen.

Hence not putting a time frame until they know for sure.
My point stands, sometimes things might need to be prioritized over others and that can leave people dissatisfied as they perhaps didn't want that thing to be worked on first. When you're talking about a dev team this small it's not easy to make such a thing as a roadmap and it's better to just have updates.

I completely understand, however people should understand some things have more priority. Good planning will be essential here. Things can always change. Small changes do not have to be logged. Maintenance and such have priority over updates. There's nothing to be discussed about that. The roadmap is here to inform us about updates not to make people mad. The more transparency there is between owners and community the happier we(community) get.
