It would be nice to know exactly what you were doing that was considered mic spam. Let’s say you were playing really loud and disruptive music, a verbal would not be necessary before gagging, but still better than instant gagging. However let’s say that your mic was broken and making annoying noises, then obviously staff should make you aware of it first and tell you to stop using it or fix it before gagging you.
