I'll be honest this is more of a lesson for the staff member, you clearly did not RDA the guy, but did interrupt a sit. Technically it wasn't a proper one due to him not taking it to a roof, so he definitely needs talked to about how to handle sits. You clearly did not do anything wrong in this situation due to it not technically counting as a proper sit / the guy was wanted.
