The "possibility" that someone is ready can go for everything. I can think that Nick 100% deserves this (note: my opinion in this statement is completely hypothetical) but there's always the possibility that he isn't. But who decides that, except ourselves? Whether or not you think someone is ready is purely based on your own opinions and values, so the "may" part of your comment is completely illogical.
