Though i taken it as a joke as I don't find being called gay as an offence personally but it may offend others playing on the server as it is obviously discrimination to use "gay" in the form of an insult, Even if you didn't mean it as an insult some people can feel disrespected by being called something they aren't so instead of saying this try to keep it away from discrimination and/or disrespect.

and also You didn't know if i was going to take it as an insult or not so you took a risk there as well, so I'm going to say this again, Dont use Sex/Race/Religion etc against people as it is Discrimination and may be taken offensive.
