I find it odd how you define justice, but whatever.
You seemed like a cool dude. I understand you might not like me after this evening, but this isn't your community and I was only informing you how it's done here.
I hope someone can convince you to revoke. I could tell you would be a good staff member the moment you applied and I find it depressing that you decided to resign because of this.
I dont blame you nor anyone else for following the policy handed to you. I hold respect towards you and for what I saw I really liked you as a person, but defending something obviously broken is not something I can get behind. I was talked out of making this earlier multiple times and I really valued this position
Although it is indeed a flawed system, I also find your own suggestion to have many problems that I'd personally not want on the servers. If you can come up with anything better than what we currently have then I'm all for it, but I find the issues that your own ideas bring up too great of a risk over the couple of users it would (possitively) affect.
And although it might seem difficult to get a hacking policy change through, you need to understand that the current owners have years of experience mamaging communities. With that experience they've decided that this is the best policy to have, but even EMP said that he'd be fully willing to discuss other options with other community owners that have their own hacking policies and different problems from here.
The idea that hackers magically dissapear when they are permanently banndd or when admins ban them when they suspect the user of cheating is more based on fantasies and assumptions than actual facts. Or, at least, that's how I've been told it by the people with years and years more experience than I do.
But I digress - you might not want to have this discussion on your resignation, and I'll respect that. Have a great time, man. Just know that you have a week to revoke - I hope you take that chance.
