When Spoder did his initial event earlier this week - in collaboration with you, Pegasus - he did it so to motivate staff to do more F1's. There was a bit of a backlash from certain members of the community, but overall we could all agree that this test was a nice way to see what exactly staff would be doing if they had a chance of receiving sums of money for doing their job.

However, Spoder told me yesterday that it had neither a positive or a negative effect on the staff team. No staff were rushing the task to do more F1's and no staff were completing more F1's than before. It didn't help, but it wasn't counterintuitive either, therefore it's safe to say that Spoder's giveaway is a nice addition to the community although it might not have had its desired effect.

What this suggestion will do, however, is the exact opposite of what you want. You want to help the staff team get further and be willing to give more into their job. And I respect that, I truly do.

However if we base this suggestion on facts, and as of this week there are finally legitimate facts -although I'd personally rather decide such things over a longer period of time.- then the staff team will not actually work harder if they get paid for it.

Instead, more users will want to become staff. They'll see "Oh, this is a nice way to get money at the side!" and apply through the regular system. What I fear this will do is that rather than the current system where we have mostly staff that do their job to help the server (with the occasional exception, but they're quickly removed) we will have a staff team that do it for the money. I am very afraid that this change in mentality will have a depremental effect on the server and on the users' experience.
