Before I state what I see issues with I want to say that I voted for a warning and not a demotion,
But I do understand where the team is coming from.

Whenever you log in you join one channel and you sit there all day long and don't move around.
While I see other staff members randomly joining public channels to make sure that everything is going alright.
Of course I can understand if you are playing a game you are not gonna join random channels.

You state you don't have time to do your job due to work.
when I had work I came online every day to do my job for around 3 hours and then go to bed, I would sit on ssrp and Teamspeak and the forums trying to do as much as possible.
If you set your priorities to something else after you come home from work is fine but then don't blame it on I had work. Because everything is based on priorities yours just lie elsewhere.
And i sure hope your priorities lie with Real life and getting your studies going.
