Explain "Random Death Match" and give an example scenario.
Random deathmatch is when a player kills another player without having a legittimate RP reason for doing so. For example becoming a mutant and killing players without being attacked first, or killing miners.
Explain "New Life Rule" and give an example scenario.
When you are killed in RP your previous 'life' and actions are forgotten and you start a fresh life; hence the name new life rule. For example you have been mugged on S3 in the CBD district but refuse to pay up due to not having the cash and killed, you cannot return to the CBD district for 3 minutes and you must forget any RP information such as the name of the person who mugged you.
Explain "Metagaming" and give an example scenario.
Metagaming is when someone references RP information in OOC. For example if you were being raided you cannot call for help in /ooc, as this would be metagaming.
Explain how you would handle the following situation:
Player x accuses player y for RDMing him, the console log shows that player y killed player x.
I would take player
y to a roof or secluded area away from active RP. I would ask them if they had a legitimate RP reason for killing the other player. If there was none I would see if the player had previously been warned for RDM and if they have been I would give them a warning. I would also ask player
x if they have any evidence to back up their accusation.
Explain how you would handle the following situation:
Player x accuses player y for breaking NLR, the kills are pretty close together in console (a few lines apart) at a peak time.
I would first check to see which district within the map the accused player had been killed in. If the player had indeed returned to the district I would check their warnings to see if they had previously been warned for NLR. If they had been warned in the past for NLR I would warn them again for NLR. If they are new to the server I would explain to them what NLR is and how it works and simply give them a verbal warning.
Explain how you would handle the following situation:
Player x calls for help in the OOC chat because his bank is being raided
I would talk to player
x firstly asking them not to broadcast RP information in OOC and make them aware of the rules regarding metagaming. If they continued to metagame I would verbally warn them and if they persisted give them a formal warning.
Why I should be chosen (we recommend around 150 words).
I have enjoyed myself immensely while playing on this server and being apart of the community. The only time where this diminished is when I encounter another player who does not want to engage in RP, which is fine as it's unrealistic to expect people RP all the time, or a rule breaker. Rule breakers are especially different as they not only have a detrimental effect on my RP enjoyment but they also effect other players enjoyment of the server. This is my main motivation for becoming a member of staff. My goal is to help facilitate an environment where RP is freely available to everyone without the grief that comes along with members of the community who fail to hinder to the rules. The rules are there to make sure RP is conducted in a manner that is fair for everyone involved. (143 words)
