I really don't think this is the biggest issue. I never heard about people thanking a post when they did not mean to... But i agree if you can thank you a post, you should be able to remove the thank you if you feel like doing that... i know it is not that big of a deal but it would be a good tool to have in case you need it.

it is better to have it and not need it then to not have it and need it
