Not here to complain but just to point out what i feel zarp can do better in

main reason for doing this is to allow new players from other severs get more fimilar with building on zarp currently they make a "base" and feel protected but little do they know sinz is coming with a hand cannon to destroy there base in seconds. a unique and balance system will attract new players and keep long term players. And to have more people active on the sever making money not afking. Pvp part of zarp is golden no other sever like it but i feel like the baseing part is over looked pvp metas and balances are constantly changing but the baseing has been the same for years maybe changing it can do some good.

medal.tv/games/garrys-mod/clips/lfyoyKjD...sNDA0NjYwMzQ0&v=120- Video shows a base i made because when i first started zarp and asked for advice building a base i was told the basing on zarp is like "rust" props break with explosives sounds cool since we all like rust and the pvp it comes with base defence/attack but in reality its not like that this video shows a rust like base betting obliterated in seconds due to the unbalanced raiding/baseing system


Unfair Basing Factors on ZARP

Weapon Damage & AOE Issues
High-tier weapons like Hand Cannon can destroy huge sections of bases in just a few shots.

AOE splash damage often penetrates multiple props, ignoring careful layering.

Even max prop HP and resistance upgrades barely matter against explosive meta weapons.

Defenders can’t counter AOE with skill — it’s pure gear advantage.

Defense vs. Offense Imbalance

Building a strong base takes 15–30+ minutes, while raiders can destroy it in under 10 seconds.

Clan and base upgrades give minimal real protection compared to weapon power scaling.

Prop regeneration from medic shields can’t keep up with raid DPS (damage per second).

Most bases just buy you time not actual defense.


Gameplay Design Flaws

No real counter-mechanic for explosives — no anti-explosive props or shields.

Skillless raiding meta — brute force beats smart defense almost every time.

Low reward for surviving a raid, even though it’s much harder than raiding.


Some ideas to help balance out basing and raiding gap

Defensive

A item can be added like a trophy system from Black Ops 2 breaking/destroying explosives,nades drom comeing with in a certian distance

Anti-Explosive Shield Generator
Emits a dome that reduces AOE damage inside its radius by 40–60%.
Runs off generator fuel, so it’s not permanent to punish afking
Reward & Fairness Systems

Survival Bonus- Survive a raid earn bonus cash, or xp to a baseing upgrade system

Raid Insurance - Optional upgrade that refunds a % of destroyed entities or props after a raid.

Raid Cooldown Protection - Short cooldown preventing instant back-to-back raids on the same player or base. Currently its 10 min i feel like it should be 15-30 min

add a skill,perk or drink like the bo2 perks that after consumed a certian % to take the killed players gun/suit to promote raids
example after drinking 50% chance to take wepon 30% chance to take suit of killed player
Raiding

AOE Damage Falloff - Explosions lose power the farther they travel from impact. To prevent wiping entire rooms with a couple shots

Raid Time Limit or Energy System - Raiders have a limited time/energy to complete a raid encourages strategy, not spam.

Heat System - The more explosives you fire in a short time, the weaker each one becomes until cooldown resets.

Building

Base Core System (like Rust or Ark) - Raiders must destroy a “core” prop to officially complete the raid.

Reinforced Door Mechanic - Fading doors that can only be breached with a specific weapon like pick locks,emp device and emp nades, not any explosive to force tactical cordination instead of hand cannon spam.

Clan

Clan Defense Trees Add a skill tree for defense can include

Prop HP boost

Auto-repair upgrade

Shield regen

Raid alert enhancements when prop is destrotyed alert is sent to players and clan members

Props being more useful is one thing that’s been talked about more in recent times though idk what plans exactly are atm

lol no worrys really appreciate you taking the time to look over some of the ideas hopefully zarp can come up with ways to change the building and baseing part of zarp i feel like it dosent have to be to crazy of a change something simple yet effective is all we need
