Explain "Random Death Match" and give an example scenario.
Random Death Match is the definition of killing a person without a valid roleplay reason.
Example:
John killed Jake because Jake was spinning in a circle.
Explain "New Life Rule" and give an example scenario.
New life rule states that once you die, you must forget your past life for 3 minutes, therefore you should not interact or pass through the area where you last died, which is defined usually by tunnels separating different parts of the map.
Example:
Mike got raided by a bunch of thieves. Therefore Mike is not allowed to come back to his base or the area next to it until 3 minutes have passed. If Mike returns to the area, he is breaking NLR
Explain "Metagaming" and give an example scenario.
Metagaming is the definition of transmitting unnecessary in character information through the OOC channel (out of character chat). To be avoided, such information is usually sent with /pm /group or /gang.
Example:
Arnold is calling his gang to raid the base in the warehouse district, and that he got his Milkor ready.
Explain how you would handle the following situation:
Player x accuses player y for RDMing him, the console log shows that player y killed player x.
I would teleport both players to a secluded area listen both of their stories and find out which is more convincing. I would request further proof from player X. If no such proof can be provided and player Y states that his kill had a valid roleplay reason, I would let him go with a verbal warning, telling him not to RDM and if he will confess that he RDMed I would warn him. If the situation happens again between the same parties, and player X gathers enough proof, I will warn player Y.
Explain how you would handle the following situation:
Player x accuses player y for breaking NLR, the kills are pretty close together in console (a few lines apart) at a peak time.
Because kills are close toghether, it is most likely that player Y broke NLR (except for the case of a vault raid, player Y being a CP and player X being a ganster). I would bring up both parties, Listen to player X's story and then hear what player Y has to say. If player Y admits to breaking NLR I would warn him and tell him to use /motd. If player Y does not admit to breaking NLR and player X has enough proof, Player Y will be warned twice for NLR and lying to staff.
Explain how you would handle the following situation:
Player x calls for help in the OOC chat because his bank is being raided,
I would act based on the following situations:
- If player X is new to the concept of metagaming, I would give him a verbal warn and guide him to check /motd
- If player X knows what metagaming is, but was not aware of the situation, I would give him a verbal warn and tell him to be careful next time. Metagaming twice will result in a warn.
- If player X is fully aware that he metagamed and fully knows the concept, I would warn him telling him not to happen again.
Why I should be chosen (we recommend around 150 words).
I have been a member of the Zarp community for the past couple of years, and I found out that this is a community I want to dedicate myself into. After a pretty long break, I decided i wanted to start again, a few months ago and this time I'll keep playing. I can be an active player on both S1 and S2 (even though I prefer S1) and I will do my best helping the community. I consider myself being a Semi-Serious person playing for fun, but when it comes to my job as a moderator, I'll be dead serious (it will be pretty hard though). I can play the server for approximatley 4 hours a day when I have school, but when I'm having school breaks I can be active up to ~10 hours a day. I have a good understanding of rules and think I could do my job as a moderator, trying to correctly solve as many requests as I can. It is up to the higher ranks of ZARP and the community itself if I will become a moderator or not. I wish the best of luck to everybody, Including other people applying for mod/admin/etc. Have a nice day and thanks for reading!
Sidenote: I want to be honest to every person viewing this mod application, and to let them know that in my early days of zarp, I had a 3day ban for having printers up in a base, and also have a few warns on record. I have done my best to learn from my past mistakes, and to not repeat the past again. I have tried to be as helpful as I can and I consider that I did not ruin the gaming experience of anyone. I respect the admins banning/warning me for doing a great job as staff and do not hold any grudge on anyone. I know this might affect my overall application as a moderator, but it's always better to tell the truth, even though it's painful.
