Whilst time grants you experience it isn't experience just on its own. Basically simply because you've been around for a long time it doesn't mean you've been able to pick up on all the skills we expect of someone that could be eligible for a promotion. The best you can do is continue to improve on how you handle situations to the point where we feel comfortable giving you a promotion.
